OrthoTeam – Orthopedic Technology Halle
Master workshop with state-of-the-art technology
Orthopedic technology has been at the core of the company’s business since it was founded. In our master workshop, we manufacture to individual requirements using state-of-the-art technology, craftsmanship and well-trained specialists. The production of orthoses (support for functional deficits of the limbs or spine) and prostheses (replacement of body parts) is not limited to the outpatient setting – our care often begins right at the bedside. The basis for this is close and trusting cooperation with doctors and hospitals in the region.
Through the use of state-of-the-art measurement technology (Rodin 4D, foot scanning, video-based gait analysis, etc.), various certifications in the field of microprocessor-controlled orthosis and prosthesis technology, and our many years of experience in building orthoses and prostheses, we are competently positioned. Of course, we are also able to implement conventional and well-established care options.
We place great importance on the needs of the patient and focus strongly on the precise fit of our products. After all, even the best technology is of no use if the product (socket or orthosis) does not fit well and causes problems for the user.

What services does the OrthoTeam of Sanitätshaus Hellwig provide?
The OrthoTeam specializes in individual orthopedic technology and produces prostheses and orthoses in its own master workshop. The range of services includes prosthetics for the lower extremity (leg prostheses), prosthetics for the upper extremity including arm, finger and partial hand replacements made of silicone, neuro-orthotics for neurological functional disorders, and pediatric orthopedics. This is complemented by sensomotoric care and gait analysis. Orthoses support functional deficits of the limbs or spine, while prostheses replace missing body parts.
What is the difference between an orthosis and a prosthesis?
An orthosis supports or stabilizes existing body parts in the case of functional deficits – for example on the limbs or spine. A prosthesis, on the other hand, replaces a missing body part, for instance after an amputation. Both are individually manufactured and carefully fitted by the OrthoTeam of Sanitätshaus Hellwig, because the decisive factor for success is the precision of fit: even the best technology is of little use if the socket or orthosis does not sit perfectly.
What technology does the OrthoTeam's master workshop use?
In the master workshop, the OrthoTeam combines craftsmanship with modern measurement technology. Among other things, the Rodin 4D system, foot scanning and video-based gait analysis are used, as well as microprocessor-controlled orthosis and prosthesis technology, for which the team is correspondingly certified. Proven classic care options are also implemented. This makes it possible to find the right solution for every patient – from high-tech care to traditional manufacturing.
Does the OrthoTeam also care for children and patients in hospital?
Yes. Pediatric orthopedics is a particular focus of the OrthoTeam, providing individual care for children in Halle (Saale) and the surrounding area. In addition, care is not limited to the outpatient setting – it often begins at the bedside. The basis for this is close and trusting cooperation with doctors and hospitals in the region, so that patients are cared for early and continuously.
